Did a bunch of research on this before I got it. The box says 1300fps. No, it's not a $1500 air gun. More like $200. Wanted to try one of these for a while and, we've got a chipmunk problem! Saw a thread a while back and it got me interested again. Came with an okay 3-9x40.

Anyone else shoot these? Wadda ya got?

Cool. Did you know Lewis and Clark carried an airgun with them?

Its on display at the NRA gun museum at Bass Pro in Springfield, Mo. I've seen it and it was no ordinary air gun.

I have the Gamo Big Cat Maxxim 1400fps. I gave my grandson a Gamo BoneCollector for Christmas. We enjoy them. You may need to eventually upgrade the scope.

A few days ago I shot 2 armadillos with mine. I've killed 3 with it so far.

Air rifles are rough on scopes and screws. Also they're very sensitive to how you hold them. It's recommended to have an open palm on fore stock, light grip on pistol grip, light cheek pressure on buttstock, and lightly against shoulder.

I do believe air temperature and humidity affects how they shoot on certain days.

This may be a slight step-up from a Red Rider. It's got this fancy new IGT piston tech in it. No spring!

I have a Gamo, it shot well for awhile and then the barrel quit returning to the exact spot causing the accuracy to go way down.

If you want to kill a lot of chipmunks you need to set a bucket trap, and or use rat traps with peanut butter and black oil sunflower seeds.

    Nice!

I’ve had my 1200 FPS Gamo for 16 years now, and it is still as powerful and as accurate as it was new. I’ve taken out many squirrels and birds with it over the years.

That's amazing! You know, I live a mile from where they launched their boats down the Ohio River. I never knew this! Fascinating story! Thanks!

this is true. Chipmunks are hard to shoot because they don’t stay still long enough for you to get a good shot. I dispatched one this week with a large rat trap baited with a pecan.

Nice. I got one of these for squirrels. Knocks the crap out of them, dead. Right at 1000fps.

With this pellet. Quite accurate, too.
