I have just installed one of Bobby Carver’s new thumbrest for the Carver Mount. The rest is approximately .5” square with a mounting surface .345” x .5” in base aluminum and it’s installed with two screws. The rest is user installed by drilling 2 holes and tapping them to 3-48 thread. Mounting is accomplished by using double sided tape to test for the location that works best with your grip, marking the hole locations then drilling and tapping the side plate.

I found the rest to give a more secure location for my left thumb and it was comfortable to shoot with. As to actual improvement I can’t make any claims, I have only put a hundred or so rounds through Blue with the rest mounted, but I know the gun feels better. It also allows a better location for your thumb, helping prevent the dreaded “magic thumb” slide drag. :)

    FG,

Thanks for the info. I've been waiting for one of these for my Carver Mounts for a long time.

The thumb rest looks cool, but I couldn't even drill and tap a block of cheese without screwing it up!

You can mark where you want it, send your mount to Bobby and he'll drill & tap it for you for $5.00 and return shipping. It's not that hard with a drill press, and I'm sure you can get it done. :) Hey, I can make it happen. :)

Just returned from a 3-day sporting clays shoot in Kerrville and getting ready to head to GA next week. Hot as usual here in TX. Did have some of that Jack aiming fluid the other evening. Other than that working all week...floating in the pool on the weekends.

It does tend to make you "drive" just a little faster. :)

It looks and feels great, now all I need is time to practice with it. Not that this item alone will give me blazing speed and accuracy but I plan on having fun with it. Who knows I may even surprise myself.

Happy 4th of July to everyone.
