    Nice, I think I may go to the bookstore this weekend.

    Is that a Gen2 G22 on the cover?

    I read a couple of reviews on Amazon. Some mentioned a somewhat anti gun bias Also, apparently the author works for Bloomberg? I need to look into that, particularly the latter before I put money in his pockets. It's more a book about Glock Inc than Glocks it seems. Interesting to be sure, but If there is a Bloomberg connection, no thanks.

    I'm not going to even lie, i like that red slide release. Anyone know where to get one?

    And I find it strange that the book is titled "The rise of America's Gun," since the gun is in fact, used all around the world

    Are you talking about the anti-gun mayor of New York City or are you talking about his business empire (which he no longer runs now that he is mayor)?

    Like I said, I need to look into it, but either way. I can't believe for one minute that Bloomberg has no involvement in his 'business empire'. Does he not still own 88 percent of it?

    If it makes you feel in better, the author actually shoots a Glock in the video for the book on Amazon..

    So at least he knows how a handgun works before writing about it..

    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Glock-Americas-Paul-M-Barrett/dp/0307719936"]Amazon.com: Glock: The Rise of America's Gun (9780307719935): Paul M. Barrett: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51PsBwhU88L.@@AMEPARAM@@51PsBwhU88L[/ame]

    Scroll down for the video..

    Yes. It covers the company, the design, the life of Gaston Glock, how law enforcement changed their paradigm, the insiders story of the "dirty laundry", the corruption of some of Gaston's insiders, the attempted assassination of GG, etc.

    It was a great read. I loved it. They sent me an advanced copy to review.

    If there was a bias, I didn't perceive it. The author stayed objective and present both sides of arguments when I came to "gun control", firearms ownership, and he even got to shoot one, which it turns out, he wasn't too bad with firing one. The book was well done, and he spoke to many of the key players.

    Its a good book. It covers some interesting issues with s&w and does show just how fly by night, glock inc. Was in the early days.

    It also chronicals the other key figures in the glock story, the ones who really got it going in the us.

    Well worth 16 bucks. Any bias is mostly at the end but is mild enough not to spoil the book.

    Yes. There's the New York author's reference with an opinion expressed regarding his personal preference for a ban on full capacity magazines with an additional inane proviso that most US handgun owners would also be accepting of this mag capacity limiting scheme in an effort to save humanity.

    Myself, I've been shooting guns for over 40 years and I've never met any serious shooter who has told me they would give up their over 10 round magazines so that only the criminals, military and police would have them.

    I will not purchase this book to bolster his coffer. But I am interested in it enough to wait and order it from me local library. I'm in no rush to read it.
