Hey guys picked up this Benchmade Puukko 200 in 3V. I got it as a general EDC fixed blade to put into rotation. I have a Shenk knives 3.5" in Elmax that I enjoy carrying too. Pretty cool little knife. 3.75 inch. Feels very strong. Screenshot_2020-10-24-15-40-56.png It's actually a high saber ground blade not a scandi. I dont have anything in 3V so I wanted to try it out. It has a full tang with a Santoprene handle. Very grippy and comfortable. Sheath. Okay well the sheath is the weakest part of the setup. It's okay. Comes with a dangler. Retention is not great but I watched a video where a guy mods the sheath and gets good retention. All in all I like it. Costs about 127.00 I would say definitely worth it. I've cut a few items and it seems to be very comfy in hand. Screenshot_2020-10-24-15-31-18.png

That's a very nice knife, I wasn't aware Benchmade had made a version of the Puuko.

The sheath is copied from the original Finnish versions of the Puuko knife which I think is a nice touch.

That bit of sheath info was interesting. Did not know that. I cut some things with it and kept feeling that blade. Actually, it was "sharp," but not like screaming sharp so I touched it up a bit on some lansky ceramic sticks. Just a few passes and stropped it. Now it's scary sharp. Very happy with it. I feel like this knife could do almost anything needed. That handle. Santoprene isn't pretty but you talk about sticking in your hand no matter what! I have a ton of good folders, but there is just something about EDCing a decent fixed blade knife.

Something else about this knife. I watched an interesting interview with a person from Benchmade talking about this knife. He said that the CPM-3V on this blade was so tough that it actually broke a machine at Benchmade that they use to test the blades. He said it bent but it would not break and eventually it broke the testing machine. I found that fascinating.

    Very nice.

I thought we were still supposed to be mad at Benchmade? Are we not doing that anymore?

Haha well you know I kind of forgot about that. I'll just keep buying them but.... I'll buy other brands at a 3:1 ratio for a while. Ha! Solved!!! This is actually the 3rd knife in a couple weeks. I bought a Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter in S35vn, and a Kizer Justice in N690 then this one. Im spreading the love.

3V is an insanely tough steel. And I believe this is the best deal for a knife in 3V. I don’t think you can find another knife in any other brand for this price for 3V.
