Those that have been around the block a few times should get either a chuckle or gas bubble from this nonsense.

Nothing new at all, lipstick on a pig. The fundamental issues in Baltimore are a severe shortage in patrol (500-600 vacancies) and a population inured to violence that will not balk at shooting into a crowd to hit a specific person. Long decades of single parenting has spawned a generation of young thugs with no conscience or leash on their worst impulses. Patrol officers are "drafted" to work overtime to fill shift slots so that at least a modicum of safety is possible. Officers are tired, worn out and crucified in the press for excessive overtime use. Greedy swine that they are (sarcasm hat on). The FOP President just advised officers to bring health concerns to a supervisor when they are drafted and too beat to be effective. The State's Attorney (the ever popular Marilyn Mosby of Freddy Gray fame) has her Assistants not prosecuting homicide cases unless they are a slam dunk ( not that she invented that sham). Having an ASA now review all shooting and robbery cases before an arrest or indictment will crash those clearance numbers too. All in all, it's nice to view this from the outside. I feel for those still trapped behind the wire and longing for a pension.

In B-more, it’s always about letting the “folks let off some steam.”

Meet the new plan, same as the old plan.

Baltimore......that shining bastion of Democratic policies and management.

But fear not, the democrats don't want to restrict their unworkable policies to just certain areas, they want to take them nationwide.

Coming soon (if the democrats get their way) to a city where you live.

Well now that we have a female, black, Lesbian, mayor the papers dont really report the crime news anymore. It kind of makes her look bad because she promised to get the crime down using the time tested "never did work" PC methods of community outreach and severe discipline for those coppers unlucky enough to have any clout.

I think she really expected her base to get behind her and "take back the streets" with all kinds of positive thoughts and good karma. Libraries too. Apparently building Libraries will take a 16yo off the street, where he's making $500 cash a day, and make him all studious. Most of all gang members we catch with guns who are felons already. Who knew it was so easy?

But a young college girl goes and gets herself raped, throat slashed ear to ear, in front of a major university? Even the papers can't quash that "well now they say she fought off the rape but got slashed bad doing so". The papers cant quash it but they "can" fail to give a description of the offender and interject a "Trump is a racist and so are all of you" link in the story. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news...0190718-k5huquvxg5gd3j5axgkide7vzu-story.html

I'm scratching my head over what Trump has to do with a girl almost getting beheaded cause she fought off a rape but thats what these fake nooz do. Its like the Vulcan mind meld.

I wonder what detectives Carver, Hauk, Prezbelewski, and Lt. Daniels think about the current situation in Baltimore.

I imagine they'd have some strong opinions on what should be done.

I didn't know B-more had that many vacancies to fill.

If I can still live in Virginia and make the commute, that might be an option for me, although I'm more interested in working for a rural agency.

I guess beggars can't be choosers though.:broccoli:

If I have to start at an urban/suburban agency, I'm ok with that.:(

My advise...... Think this through carefully.....

Baltimore is NO JOKE.... it is statistically more dangerous than Afghanistan.

At least in Afghanistan, you have armor and air support.

Isn't the old crime plan still in place and running like gang-busters? :p

I’d rather be in Afghanistan. At least the roe are more lenient.

Has anybody tried arresting criminals and keeping them in prison for a while lately in Baltimore?

    Just thinking out loud here...
