I stopped by my local glockmeister store looking for a Glock 34 gen 5. They pulled out a 34 they just got in that morning. It has front serrations and the grip without the front cut out.

Can’t wait to try it out at the range.

Nice! Congrats. Get some ammo through it and report back.

Does it have the modified breech face?

Cracker, don’t know about that, here is a pic of the breach face. Man that looks dirty, not a round fired yet.

It looks like it does. There appears to be a notch cut in the breech opposite of the extractor. This was first noticed on the G45 and then on the new 19mos and 17mos. It’s supposed to throw brass into the next zip code. Have fun with that new gun. It’s on my want list.

What is the part number? Is it different from the previous G34 Gen 5?

Yes, according to the store, just released with these changes. Maybe a gen 5.1. Got me to thinking, I wonder if this was the reason for the production hold on 34s a little while ago.

It’s a Gen 5 MOS. All the MOS guns have the same G45 features.

The first runs of gen 5 mos, I handled several this morning, do not have the front serrations and have that cut out lower front grip. I had the option of buying either.

What is the red stuff on the breach face? Is Glock using polymer coated rounds for testing now?

There was red stuff that I cleaned out of the slide rails and other areas. Maybe packing grease or just leftover stuff.

Not the G34 MOS Gen 5. There are ones without the FS and with the grip cut. the G34 MOS Gen 5 FS has the FS / no cut, as do the G19 / G17 MOS Gen 5s.

Rumor is the G19 / G17 Gen 5s will be moving to no grip cut (not sure about the FS).

I should have clarified my comment. All new Gen 5 MOS guns with FS seem to share the same family of features as the G45. Breach cut, ejector, no half moon, etc.

If the 19.5 gets a revised no-cut grip, I think my 19.4 will go away and be replaced by one. I really like the Gen5 changes.

What ejector change are we talking about with the Gen5 MOS compared to the old Gen5s?

Congrats, I picked one up as well. I'm loving the front serrations and the lack of front grip cut out. I hate the front grip cut out even more on my original G19.5 so I'm sure it's a matter of time before it's replaced with the updated G19.5 MOS too.

It looks like it incorporates the improvements present in the G45. I did not want another Gen 5 with the grip cutout. I am sold. The improved G34.5.1 MOS version wil be my next Glock.
