just bought a sig 229 with night sights. $729 my other gun is a 220 carry sao. i used to be a glock guy until i fired the 220. most accurate weapon i have ever fired. i still like glocks but not like the sigs. i used to be a .45 guy. but i saw a show where a guy with a knife was shot 8 times with a .38 he turned around walked 25 feet and sat down.. he was taken by ambulance and released a week later, not much worse for the experience. then i saw a show on forensic files where a serial killer walked up to a car and put 4 rounds of .40 caliber bullets into a lady and ran. she got out of the car and walked to her daughters apartment, who called an ambulance, which took her to the hospital. she was released a week later in good condition.
so i figure it is all about shot placement. i will carry my 229 with ammo that travels at 1250 fps and i will not feel like i am under armed. cant wait to fire it.

    Congratulations!

If you haven't already done this, maybe put some grease on those rails so they don't wear down to bare metal like mine did.

I have a one inch mini "trench" in the right rail of my 229's frame that is bare metal.

    Not too happy about that.

thanks for the heads up. i plan to buy some mil-comm before i go to the range.

i have never shot anything that could compare to my sao 220. so i can't wait to try this.

p.s. is there any place on this forum which will give me step by step instructions to post pictures? thanks again
