I would not want to walk around with 30-40 of those in my pocket at all times.
Google search brings up a few. Maybe just plated?
Liberty is a concept.
Who was the first person killed by the British in the Boston Massacre?
Don't see it listed here:
Yeah, something doesn't pass the smell test.
But doesn't the coin say 1oz on it
Yes - it does say 1oz. But the OP didn't include a link for better information. Is it a government sponsored coin? It also says .9999 fine. Another poster said it sells for $100. There's some 'fake news' going on here...
There's bad math in this thread. Rabbi!!!
It's a $100 coin, but will cost more than $100.
They should do the same thing with pennies to get rid of them.
Found this about the coin:
Plenty of info but no price. It is an ounce of .9999 gold so the price will be up there, at a minimum cost of 1 ounce plus a hefty premium.
Edited to add: Found a site that says coin goes on sale in April and no price set yet.
Your tinfoil hate is on too tight. Try the New York Times.
1oz .9999 gold coin
$100 the same way the current American gold eagle is $50. In other words not really.
The gold coins never sell for face value. You must be as into coins as much as you are car maintenance!
I have a new grandson coming in 2017. One of those might make a nice birthday gift.
A quick look shows that an American Gold Eagle is $50.00 face value but in reality will set you back around $1275 or so,depending on the metal market. Oh, plus tax, if applicable and shipping.
I'm surprised it wasn't a gay, trans, Latino furry.
I was thinking the same thing the coins are worth about $1077 each I'll buy as many as I can get for $100 apiece!
I'm sure William Devane knows all about it
