Many here have expressed that sentiment. Maybe you all can find some value in this. I remember watching the MOH ceremony. Roy B was an animal. He never quit the fight.

That is "never give up" to the nth degree.

Makes it seem like everything I do every day has either a little more meaning or means nothing because it couldn't stack up to what some have done.

    God bless America.

Sometimes ordinary people do extra-ordinary things. I believe that is why some people are placed here. Its hard to decide whether to stand up and cheer or to sit down and cry. Guess i'll do both.

    Hats off to Roy,
    MF

I recall reading about this story and seeing the picture of President Ronald Reagan presenting the MOH to Sergeant Benavidez. The story is truly incredible and Sergeant Benavidez was so humble in his acceptance of the MOH. It puts in perspective our own personal achievements or what we think are great things that we've accomplished.

He is truly one of the great Americans. RIP, Master Sergeant. :patriot:

I was in the military, US ARNG and later active Army when I heard about him. He was, is very well celebrated, and will have my undying respect for what he did that day. I expect to see him after this life.
