Our 10 month old Shih Tsu was neutered on Wednesday. We got him back back today (he was with my parents yesterday) and noticed that when he walks slowly, his rear end drags toward the ground, almost as if he is getting ready to go to the bathroom. (The squat isn't that low, but just wanted to use it as an example)

    Is this common?

He also seems lethargic. How long should we expect this to last?

He's just a little on the 'sore' side. Give him another few days and he will be fine.

I'm worried he won't be his oldself though. He used to jump around and run around the house. I don't want a dog that just lays around!

If he is not back to his 'old self' on Monday, contact your Vet. Until then, don't worry ;).

He needs some down time to recover.

Update- He is regaining his energy. The biggest difference is how he really wants to be close to my wife or I. He is consistently jumping up onto the couch or chair to sit right beside us or in our laps. He was never like this before.
