    Some of the "in HD" (WWII, Vietnam) episodes are good when there is nothing else to watch.

    Just watched a 3 episode one on the start of WWI I liked it. The show was called Our World War.

    Ken burns the war is great, as is his civil war one. ww2 in hd is good too

    Probably not exactly what you had in mind but Point and Shoot was good, on netflix streaming.

    A guy decides to motorcycle tour around Africa/Middle East shooting his own video. He meets some Libyans traveling around, eventually goes back home only to return during the Libyan revolution and actually fight with them. He was in the news at the time when he was imprisoned.

    WW2 from Space sounds ridiculous but I enjoyed it. It only went over basic and commonly known aspects of the war, but I still found it interesting.
