I’ve been looking for a P30L V1 9mm for a year, no luck! The 3 HK pistols that’s been on my radar are that P30L, an Expert in 9mm, and a P2000sk in 9mm.

When the P30L becomes available, I’ll get one, this post is about the P2000sk, for those of you that have one, just how good of a pistol is it.....how do you like yours? I’m carrying a P30sk V1 now, it may sound redundant to add a P2000sk? I love Glock 26 sized pistols, I love comparing other pistols to my Glock 26, just wanted to hear your thoughts on the P2000sk. There’s a used one that just became available, it’s a 98.9 out of a 100, it’s nice! I think I can get it for $450 out the door!

Every time I ask for opinions here I end up buying whatever I’m asking about, plus I just wanted to start a new thread in this extremely dead forum! ;):D

I think the P2000SK is a better pistol that the P30SK.

The P2000SK is my absolute favorite, standard LEM. I liked my 40 so much, I bought a 9 in same configuration.

I wouldn’t have any problem buying a reasonably used one.

Why is that Brian? I've been thinking about getting a P30SK V3 this Spring for Summer carry. My usual carry is a P30L V3.

I've never handled a P2000 so I haven't been able to make the comparison.

I have both the P2000 and the P30. I've also had the P30SK in V1 and V3 (both with and without thumb safety) and the VP9sk. The P2000sk would be of great interest to try.

In regards to the P30sk/VP9sk I have to say from the perspective of grip, they were both of utmost comfort and the ability to mix-n-match the side panels and back strap all but ensure a grip that is right for you. Both were accurate and just a pleasure to shoot. I would surmise, based off my experience thus far with the P2000 that the sk version would also be excellent and comfortable even if a bit less as far as customizing the grip.

As far a build quality, I often hear that the P2000 is a better USP? I would surmise this would translate to the sk version as well. How that compares to quality vs. the P30/VP9 pistols would be an interesting question. Is one better than the other? If so, what is the reason?

Fits my hands better personally. Other than that, just a seemingly better attention to detail.

HK downgraded the P30SK models a bit to compete on price. It’s noticeable. Look at a standard P30 and compare it to the SK version.

ahh....good tip. I didn't know there was a difference between the P30 and the SK version. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for your input....I trust you in such matters.

I know I’ve mentioned my want for a P30L here several times before, just a few minutes ago at my new LGS (literally 3 miles from the house) the owners daughter opened 2 boxes from HK. She had 8 different P30’s in both V1 and V3, she said they had been on backorder forever.......hopefully this is a good sign for the P30L. She has 3 or 4 P30L’s on order, including mine! She said HK sent her more than she wanted and she gave me a price of $537.00 for a 9mm V1. Must resist!!

The other LGS I mentioned in the original post still has the P2000sk, if it’s still there by the end of the week I’m probably going to pick it up. I don’t need it but a P2000sk V2 9mm has been on my “pick one up” list for a while now. It’s used, but in excellent shape, somewhat hard to justify when I just held a brand new P30 V1 a few minutes ago for $537!

Used, but in excellent shape, a P2000sk 9mm V2, $449 + tax, $513 out the door. Good deal or what? Had this shop hold if for me and immediately left and went and shot 200 flawless rounds out of my P30sk V1.

I’ve always wanted a P2000sk, and pistols that size, G26, P30sk, and this 2000sk are the sweet spot for me carry wise. Just seems redundant buying the 2000sk, especially when I keep telling myself the P30L is absolutely next! Knowing me I’ll probably pick it up tomorrow?

Having to choose between the P30sk and the P2000sk will probably be tough, I love the way my 30sk fits and feels in my hand!

Compared to the prices I'm seeing around the net, $513 is a pretty good price for a P2000sk. I would also be torn between a P30sk and a P2000sk. I've had several of the P30sk pistols, in every version and really liked them quite well. All great shooters. I haven't had the P2000sk but would be very tempted. Tough choice.

I am actually in favor of my 30sk over my 2000sk. The 30sk feels better in my hand and I do shoot it better. Both are da/sa as I just can't adjust to the LEM. I don't have an eye for one being higher quality so it may be true that the 2000sk is of higher quality and that is fine if so. They are both HK and that is what I care about most but I do favor my 30sk.

I had one and i loved it. It didn't carry IWB as well as a MP 9C or a Glock so i sold it...but make no mistake. It was a great gun with fantastic fit and finish.

FWIW, there are a fair number of P2000s being offered on Gunbroker at the moment...:dancing:
