I'm looking for a TV tuner card for my computer so that I can watch cable tv on it when needed. I would appreciate anything you can recommend. I dont need anything high end...just basic. Needs to fit in standard PCI slot. Thanks.

Well, without an AGP slot, the use of a regular All-In-Wonder multimedia card just isn't possible - not enough bandwidth available.

But what you can do is get one of these USB 2.0 TV tuners, though you will also need a USB 2.0 adapter card to make this work.

Your machine has to have Win98 Second Edition or better to use the USB card's drivers.

PCI should have more bandwidth than USB 2.0.I don't use the PC to watch TV but I have friends that use $50 PCI TV cards with good results.

Those $200 HDTV cards can be trouble. They are difficult to get to work correctly.

I have an ATI TV Wonder VE card in my PC.
It's a basic PCI TV Card, nothing fancy.
I've had no problems with it.

I went with AverMedia PCI 500 card. It was $85.00 and has some nice features. Thanks for the input guys.
