Hello guys, I need some no BS opinions. I'm getting tired that my HK USP full size 40s&w that's taking up my safe space. I like it alright, but I have G22 and Steyr M40A1. Sadly, I prefer them over my USP.

So I'm thinking to post my USP on my local forum for trade. So what do you guys think I can trade it for. I'm probably gonna stay in semi pistol, 40 or 9mm, something in full size. What kind of choices do I have in a equal trade? or slightly up/down cash value?

I don't think I would step into 1911 just yet. I want to save up for a decent mid end 1911 like TRP. I really want a TRP Operator with full rail...

I might just get a 357sig barrel for my G22 if I want shoot 357sig out of a Glock. But I think I'm gonna stay with 40 or 9 as now.

That's a thought. FNX is hard to find in my neck of woods, but I always fancy a FNP. Maybe.

I understand you would like to stick with either 9 or 40, but do you have any preferences as far as platform?

If you like Glock, maybe try for one of those plus what amout of cash you think is fair? A sig would probably also equal a pretty fair trade. JMHO :wavey:

Why would you want to trade? The USP is an awesome gun and in a good caliber.

I've always been partial to the 229. Either 9mm or .40 would be an excellent choice. Not exactly *full* size, but larger than a G19 for sure.

    Then again, there's always the 226... :)

Not specifically. I'm leaning more to the steel/alum frame now then polymer. Maybe another 226? Does USP 40 equal in value to a w german 226 these days? How about 220 in 9mm? I haven't check out Sig and HK's value for a while now.

USP is an ok gun. But in reliability department I trust my Glock. In trigger and ergonomic departments I prefer Steyr. I just don't find the reason to keep USP other than I could show off at people that I own a HK (the cheapest one in HK line).

I have never had/shoot a 229 before. I do have a 226 and I like it. I might list it as a possible trade for a back up Sig. But I haven't been fellow the market value for HK and Sig for a while. Will my USP equal in value to 226, 220, 229 or P6/225?

yes i should equal those weapons, if you choose a P6/p225 i would expect some +cash

right now topgunsupply has Swiss police-trade-in 226 and p225 but those might be near "collector" prices then "pd-trade-in" prices

Thanks for the heads up. If only I live in different state, I'll have few of those right now.

Isn't sig 220 run much higher than 226, 229? Will my USP in the same value to 220 or 226, 229?

I like the Sig P226 idea. I love mine! I my self never liked the HK USP, over rated for what it its.

As you know, the Steyr's pretty much "king of the hill" when it comes to polymer pistols. Didnt you want an M9A1? If not, another excellent choice is the FNP or FNX, if you want a more "conventional" ignition system. If you dont have a w.german SIG.....get one! You should be able to work an even trade for a like new SIG 220, 229 or 226. Here's another thought.....knowing you're also a fan of Wilhelm Bubits, why not wait til the Caracal hits the shores?? If there's one polymer pistol that may just possibly have an edge on the Steyr, it has to be from the same designer, right? I'm guessing you would be extremely pleased, if you sold the USP and used that cash toward a Caracal! They are due to hit anytime now.

The P220 (SA) would be my choice.
