I want to buy an external hard drive to back up files in case my 3 year old goes out (it has been acting weird). I am looking at buying this one due to price ( low budget right now). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822218002
Are the Edge hard drives any good? Also, could I install XP on this hard drive and boot my PC with it in case my internal hard drive goes bad?

I haven’t used an edge hard drive before, but I have used their memory before.

Most new computers will allow you to boot your PC from an USB hard drive. I would recommend checking out the bios on the PC to see if it supports that features. If you can

I would look at either the VENUS or ADAPTEC enclosures($30-50).

And then add a WD Hard Drive, usually $20 to $40, after rebates, in the Sunday paper ads.
