But not your traditional death metal bands. I heard a song from Demon Hunter on the radio called "Anholate the corrupt", and with the exception of the ghey voice that says "I am the voice of your affliction, stabbing you through the back of your soul....." etc.. (Speaking of which, I HATE it when a good, heavy band interrupts a good song with some stupid backstreet boys voice! Fear Factory is guilty of this in nearly all of their songs!)

Does anyone know of any hardcore death metal bands that are Christian? I heard some more Demon Hunter and it's softcore stuff that a mainstream radio station could play, blech! I like Fear Factory, the heavier songs of Machine Head, Prong, some Meshuggah, Devil Driver (Yeah yeah I know), basically really "heavy" stuff, with the exception of underground metal. Underground metal just isn't harmonic enough for me to get into. If you think Ozzy Osbourne is heavy then you probably can't help me.

I hate death metal, but I'm all about old thrash..ever give SOD a try? They're not Christian, but they aren't overtly blasphemous either.

    Nile-try "In Their Darkened Shrines"
    Mastadon-try "Remission"

For the most part not super balsphemous, but solid stuff. If you like "Cleansing" by Prong, you might also check out COC's earlier stuff.

    SWORN ENEMY

Band from NY that is amazing. They're not death metal but all hardcore. They also are not a christian band but have a couple of tracks that are from the point of view of Jesus.

So you get none of the annoying "christianity is right and if you aren't christian you'll go straight to hell". The songs have a clear and powerfull, honest message.

Sworn Enemy's on headbangers ball sometimes. You have to see them live to truely appreciate them.

    Kenny G?......or celine dion, maybe?

I'm 23 so I guess I've only got a year and a half left of listening to good music. Do I also have to use question marks incorrectly?

I noticed your "words of wisdom" on the bottom of your posts. Just curious, does god say anything about an age limit on music?

    I'd appreciate an explaination.........uhh, I mean.....I'd appreciate an explaination?

Kenny G? I wouldnt wish that on my inlaws.;f

Does God have an age limit on music? No But it sure looks SILLY seeing grown men wearing long matted hair and black biker leather.

Death Metal: two power chords per song and no talent.;z

Listen to the "words of wisdom" my friend.

First of all,I listen to all kinds of music.I suppose I could dress all black and be into suicide and death, but I've never found that one kind of music I listen to motivates me that way.
I suppose it would be like assuming all bluegrass listeners are into incest, all gospel listeners watch the 700 club and country listeners dress like the Oak Ridge Boys and watch Dukes of Hazzard reruns.
Get your head out of your ***.;5

    doright,

Well I gotta give you credit for taking the jabs with a smile;f

Grown men do often look silly wearing all black and dressing like a teenager.....but, not all of us who listen to hardcore music dress like this.....me being one of them. Actually I never got into the goth style of music or dress.

This type of music does have a lot of rhythm to the guitar riffs but the bands I listen to use more than two cords. Check out Killswitch Engage sometime, they are extremely talented musicians. There are always the crappy bands that have no skill but that is becoming the minority more and more as talented bands get some recognition.

    peace backatcha

Immortal Souls, Sinai Beach, No Innocent Victim, Jesus Wept, Paramaecium, Extol, Tourniquet, Ultimatum, The Showdown, Mortal Treason, Faithbomb, Believer, Consecrator, Haste The Day, Living Sacrifice, Mortification, Veni Domine, Theocracy and so on and so on. Most of these aren't Death Metal bands, but then again neither is Demon Hunter (the band you referenced). They are all Christian bands though and are all hard. Good to see you trying to listen to something decent. I gave up secular metal and hardcore (with a few exceptions) long ago. Hope it helps you. As far as the people who insult 30, 40 and 50 something year old's listening to hard music (I'm proudly one of them) they're the one's who truly haven't yet grown up. Sadly many of them will end up being the bitter old men we've all run across a few times. ;) Check out these sites www.facedownrecords.com www.firestream.net www.blastbeats.com www.crossingmusic.com www.hmmagazine.com

Aside from the Rolex Sea Dweller and Milt Sparks leather items I dress like a country bumpkin in all Carhartt. I do wear Bounty Hunter and KFK Industries clothes some too. Except for the ones that have it carved into their bodies, I'm about the biggest Slayer fan though. I just don't look like it. Therapy for me is turning on the 100 watt Marshall and blazing away.

Opeth: This would be my first recommendation. But you must be into 10 to 20 minute long pieces with plenty of acoustic guitar interludes, mixed with brutal vocals. I recommend “Orchid”, “Morningrise”, and “Black Water Park”.

Nile: Totally brutal death metal. Flawlessly played and executed. A true class act. I recommend “Black Seeds of Vengence” first, and “In their Darkened Shrines” second.

Dying Fetus: Really tight playing. Great band all together, with unrelenting riffs and incredibly low vocals.

Carcass, Death, Cryptopsy, and Kataklysm are excellent bands also.

BTW: Death metal isn’t about death. Its about survival.

I Love Death Metal, but do not fit your sterotype at all, as do many people.
I work for a bank and dress like your typical conservative banker every day. I don't own a single peice of leather clothing. And if you think Death Metal is only 2 cords check out the new Nile album.
