I can pickup a Police trade in gen 3 27 LNIB with night sights and two mags for 495$. I found a dealer that has a Gen 4 27 new for 546$ without night sights but three mags. What is the better deal? Which would you get?

For $50 you get new and an extra magazine, that would be my choice.:wavey:

Join the GSSF for two years for $60 and find a local Blue Label Glock Dealer. GSSF will send you a voucher for one Glock at GSSF prices. You can pick up a Gen4 27 for $425 and you have $485 total invested. The dealer usually will not give you the third mag though.

The next year, GSSF will send you another voucher for one Glock at GSSF prices. If Glock doesn't raise prices, you can get another Gen4 for $425 next year.

i looked into the GSSF and thought i read you have to be a member for a year before they will send you a voucher? Is that not correct?

If you sign up for a two year GSSF membership they will send you one voucher immediately. At least that's what they did for me in September, 2012.
