I think I tossed all of my Maglites that used coventional light bulbs.

Any Maglites I have today were given to me free of charge. Of that I'm sure.

I thought I had an old mini-mag laying around, but couldn't find it.

I guess you were talking about a mini??

Has anyone tried an LED conversion kit in their Maglite?

Yup, renovated 3 old Maglites, a 3, 4 and 5 cell with the LEDS I bought at Lowes when I couldn't find the old style xenon bulbs. Probably paid double what the internet price would have been. Work wicked good and so far battery life is about 10 minutes shy of forever. Also a lot brighter, but it's that unflattering white light.

Back in the day maglite was the leader. Since discovering Olights my maglite collection are never used. What exactly is the OP looking for I might have the part he needs. The lamp retainer?

    Yep, I've used LED kits in my 4x C-cell, a couple of 2x D-cell, and some mini-mags.

They all work and there's no way I'm going back to conventional lamps after experience with the LED kits.

Be glad you lost it. Join the 21st century!

My edc streamlight was probably under $40. It's beat to hell, I've kept it in my pocket and used it for everything, even mechanicing, for the last five years and it keeps ticking.

If you told me I had to exchange it for a maglight I would probably vomit.

Eta: if you aren't carrying a modern flashlight with two cr123 batteries you are missing out. I was slow to switch because they aren't as available, but order a package from amazon (or most gun stores stock boxes of them) and you are set for years.

I have a system where I rotate them from my rifle light, to my dedicated bedside light, to my pocket light. I can't be the only one who does this? Lol

Maglite isn't out of business. I checked. Have you tried them? I still have a 3D cell one. With no batteries in it at the moment but I'm not parting it out yet. I'm still pissed about the 4D one that got stolen out of my truck and I couldn't find one to replace it with so I got the 3. The pisser of it is a pocket sized LED flashlight for 5 bucks at the home center that holds 3 triple A batteries is as bright.

Man, I thought Maglites were the bees’ knees back in the 2nd grade.

I'm just thinking that paying $13 for that little piece does not make any sense, if someone here has one that they probably will trash, and are willing to put in a envelope and send to me for a few $, like pay pal them $6..... (If you don't like my posts...there is always the IGNORE feature, don't be an A$$)
FURTHER THOUGHT ADDED.. I'm really happy to see that you read and remember everything I post :p AND, I have a bunch of Maglights that are just kept around the house for emergencies...I lost the little part converting them to LED, so there, nah na na nah na :outtahere:
