looking to get a set of boots for hunting and hiking ..

i have big feet though, thru the danner print a page thing im at 14.5 wide,

so somewhere near 15 to allow a bit of room for wool socks,

price .. would like to keep around 200~ or under ..

i really want a pair of danners with stitch down construction,

and on that note, anyone own a pair of the other type of dannersR ? how long do they last ,

I have the Danner Pronghorns, wouldn't worry too much about the stitchdown, they have excellent customer service and warranties. Stitchdown are USA made and heavier as well as more expensive. My pronghorns fit like a running shoe, so lightweight and comfortable.

I wear Danner Acadia's at least 5 days a week. 3 pair. I don't wear anything else, and I have tried dozens of brands.

Have owned the Ft Lewis boots too. Just not in brown.

Buy them your size, don't go over size for socks, that's a bad idea.

    Been wearing danners since 1991.
Try your local Red Wing, too.
Bring the socks you plan to wear.

My brother in law had his feet trashed in store boughts on an elk hunting trip.

I told him about these and he is a happy camper now.

I have danner acrcadia's and hands down they are the best boot I have ever worn. I have tried red wings and and hi teks but the danners fit like a pair of tennis shoes after they are broke in.I will not buy anything else for duty boots again! Oh and they last for years.

+1 Danner Acadia are great boots as are the Ft. Lewis model. Either is excellent depending on the distance you will be walking and what the conditions are.

Russell are okay (I've owned 2 pair), but Danners fit me better.
