For some reason, I cannot get into GlockTalk using Internet Explorer. I am here now by logging on to AOL and then GlockTalk. I've tried deleting my GlockTalk cookies in case something has been corupted but no luck. Any suggestions or ideas. Thanks.

Reboot, see if that does anything. (Yah, I know, lame trouble shooting technique)

If that doesn't work, run the install of IE6 again (If you were using a previous version of IE, upgrade).

    Who's your Internet Provider?

Can you ping the site at a command prompt: You know, c:\ping www.glocktalk.com?

If not, try running c:\tracert www.glocktalk.com.

Your ISP may be having a DNS issue.

Also try to type this in your browser's address bar:

    65.121.170.156

That should get you to Eric's test page.

If that gets you there, it's definitely a DNS issue.

My ISp is Comcast. When I try to ping I get request timed out. The route to the test site will not work either and the tracert also time out. Thanks

What about when you do a tracert to the IP address? Where does it die? I'm guessing there's just a router down between you and it, and that's all. Could just be a single port, even.

Unfortunately, you've just got a bad path. The problem's way out on the net, and your ISP probably won't be able to help you. I'm afraid you're just going to have to wait it out. :(

You could try seeing what the last domain name in the tracert was, and see if you can track down the owners of the domain, and let them know they have a path issue. If you're lucky, they may have the domain name listed for hop 20 or 21.

It might be your ISP's backbone provider, if so they can inform their provider of the issue. send a copy of the traceroute to them.
