My dad's looking for something similar to this http://www.rei.com/product/745643 but that has suspender-like shoulder straps as well for hiking.

I've checked the big name places (REI, The North Face, LL Bean, etc.) and can only find ones with waist straps and a single shoulder strap.

If these do not exist, I guess he'll just have to get one without straps and have someone make/attach them himself.

    Thanks! :wavey:

Search LBE (load bearing equipment) suspenders.

Thanks for the link. I showed him the Maxpedition site but it's a bit more than what he's looking for. If the waist pack part had shoulder straps without needing to add on the backpack part, then it'd be perfect for what he's looking for.

Thanks for the reply. I showed him this and other ALICE type gear but it's more than what he's looking for and he doesn't want to have to buy all the pouches and whatnot to add to the gear.

Like I said in my OP, if worse comes to worse he can just have his fiance stitch on some straps to a waist pack.
