I seem to have gotten a very resilent bug on my system that I can't seem to get rid of through normal means. It seems to have corrupted system files to the point I'm getting constant error messages and Windows is working less and less. I can't seem to find a system restore far enough back to fix the issues. To make matters worse, the malware/virus(es) are so bad that not even my antivirus software (McAfee) can get rid of it. It can see it, and it says it got rid of it, but if I run another scan, there it is again. Something else bizarre is supposedly there is 11 GB being used on the drive, but if I check what's actually on disk I have less than 2.5 GB actually being used. ^8 What I really need is a program to wipe the drive clean and start over from scratch. I'm thinking Fdisk should do the trick, but I've also heard of a program that resets the entire drive's data to 0s, so I'm interested in checking that out as well. I am open to suggestions in fixing/diagnosing this issue otherwise, but I think I am going to have to do a wipe/reinstall regardless, as basic system files seem to be corrupted. Thanks.
