I've been using this email program for most of a year w/o problem. However, something happened recently (don't know exactly what) where the program acts very sluggishly, and will not retrieve any new messages (and there are some).

I does show about 2200 emails in my inbox (bottom right corner) when actually there are only about 100.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Now why did you leave your email address if you can't retrieve new messages? :)

The 2200 thing is strange, I think if you do some investigating, you'll probably find a compressed file somewhere or something, that is slowing things down.

Or can we say "crashed"? I thought you could!

    First try this:

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup

then go here and try this:

    ;)

I have to go to the roadrunner website and log in there to retrieve new emails.

I tried to run something from the Mozilla website to "uncompress some files," but I wasn't successful and didn't understand what I was trying to do.

    Thanks for the advice.

I noticed the same sluggish slow downs in my TB. I tried all the hints and tricks, deleting various files after compressing them wouldn't work, trieds updating TB and finally got tired of it. Moved over to Eudora & and have been incredibly happy with it. I am currently running in the sponsored mode, but may go to the paid mode if it is still running this good in about 6 or so months.
