I have this trouble with lead deposits/fouling (see picture) and whatever i do i cant remove it with my present cleaner.

The fouling on the sights have been there for almost 6 months now after shooting reloads from a shooting range.

Moisten the affected area with Hoppe's and let it soak up for awhile. Then brush off the leading with a copper brush. If there are still stubborn lead deposits left, gently scrape off with the sides of a 25 centavo coin.

Just like what Django said, use Hoppe's No.9. Test it on a small area first and proceed if it doesn't do something bad to the gun's finish. You may also want to try Break Free.

Leave it as it is if it doesn't bother you. Gives your Taurus a "seasoned" appearance.

Thank you for all the replies!

I'll just remove the larger parts of the deposit. i like my gun as clean as possible but Eye Cutter is right it'll build up again.

    for a lightweight gun...

with .357, for me, it's painful. i mean you could feel the vibration go through your bone! the recoil, however, is very manageable.

    with .38 it's joy ride.

the whole thing + the papers costs around 30-35k two or three years ago.

the gun itself costs around 22k-25k.

i haven't found any 7-shot speedloader yet, let alone a speedloader that works for my taurus.

    HKS? what is that?

HKS is one of the well known brand of speedloaders. Speedloaders for 7 shot revolvers are available in many gunstores in the country

Try Twin Pines, Trust Trade and Tools Trading. Baka naubos stock pero they are always in abundance.

    for your referrence

    just saw this post hehehehe...

tagal na kasi akong hindi nag-browse.

sige i will try again this time using the reference you posted :)

yep, i told the store clerk "...pang taurus 617...".

i recently browsed taurus' website and found out that they now offer the 617 unported.... hmmm... make me wanna buy a new gun. the porting helps when shooting in the range but the flash is really nasty if i tred shooteng it in the dark.
