I think it is an A-male to A-male *50 Foot* cable that we need. It is to hook a projector to a PC. We were told a web-site that had them pretty cheep before Christmas, but now I can't find it!

Anyone know any good places to check??

    Thanks

    BT

    www.monoprice.com

is the ONLY place you should ever buy electronic/computer cables.

Everywhere else will mark cables up 5-50% (best buy usb cable= $30 bucks, employee cost is $1.88) Monoprice would probably be even cheaper than employee price.

Yeah, when we used to order factory terminated Cat5/6 cables we'd bay about 80 cents per 25 feet when a 20 foot cable at walmart or BB is $15 plus!

Also, check GreyBar, they specialize in tools (like all of them!) but should have cables as well.

I've had luck with shop4tech.com. Free shipping from them and they usually have a special going. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

For that long of a run, you may need an USB extender, such as this one: Link to Monoprice

I use something similar at home to connect an all-in-one printer to my Mac Mini on the other side of the room.

I wish you knuckleheads would quit posting sites like this. I just spent the last two hours exploring every nook and cranny of that pig!

In all seriousness, thanks for the great link. I am sure all of us have been screwed on the cable deal before. Thanks to the knucklehead crew from GT it won't likely happen again.

    Again, thanks much!

Excellent site, thanks for the link! Makes me VERY happy that I decided not to drop $20+ a pop :)wow:) a few weeks ago at Home Depot on banana jack wall plates to clean up my speaker wiring - $3-4 each is MUCH more palatable, not to mention much more in line with what I think they're worth.

That's sounds like kind of a long run to me, too.

Seriously, for shorter USB cables, do you have a Dollar Tree in town?

All kinds of stuff they have sometimes. I got all kinds of A/A & A/B cables. All kinds. Male/Male, Male/Female, & Female/Female. They are like the Olmec Temple of electronics knick knacks.

    +1 on momoprice.com, and

+1 on this gizmo. I just used one, along with a passive 30' USB cable to hook up a printer in my wife's office. Works like a champ!
