I am going to a gun show this weekend and plan on trading in my Kahr CW40 for another gun. I was dead set on getting a G19 untill I started thinking.

Should I just buy a conversion barrel for my G23 and some G19 mags? I dont really like the Kahr so it would be nice to trade for something better.

    Thanks,
    Brian

Keep the gun factory. If you don't like the Khar, trade it. I have a 19/23 17/22 and all models of the M&P despite being able to just change barrels. The only extra barrel I have is the .357 stock Glock barrel for the 23 and that's because it's the same gun in ALL aspects (and it was $20).

I would get the barrel and another gun. The 19/23 are essentially the samw, I would rather have more variety.

If you don't like the gun why keep it. Do the trade.

A 19 would serve well for range and backup duty while working with holsters for the 23....or you could get a 29 or 30 for variety. Can't go wrong.

I would just get the 19. I'm not a fan of aftermarket conversion barrels. Plus, for 100% reliabilty you would have to change your ejector as well. Too much of a PITA.

I know that guys swap just the barrel and mags and leave the straight ejector with no issues. But IMO, Gaston put a slight bend on the 9mm ejector for a reason. JMO.

Plus, the more Glocks, the better.

    Get the 19. Great gun.
Good previous advice. I add some cosmetic aftermarket parts,
but keep my glocks stock for reliability.
O.K. to play at the range, but I don't want to bet my life on
different barrels, ejectors, etc., on the streets.
Don't over think yourself into a corner.

Sell the kahr, take the $$$ buy 9mm mags, a 9mm barrel & g19 extractor... BAM! 2 guns in one!
I have a G23C with 9mm mags 9mm barrel & extractor + .40 un-comp barrel, .357 comp & un-comp barrels & mags. All factory, sooo... that makes it 5 guns in 1 frame! Why buy when you can modify?

Plus if you get $$$ for the Kahr you can buy extra mods like a light, holsters, and other mods if you don't have them already.

Thanks for all the replies, I am going to the gun show tomorrow morning and I will be picking up a G19 if they can beat my local dealers price. If not I will be stopping by there on the way home, so either way I will have a G19 tomorrow.

A $140 dollar switch and you still want to drop 450+? okay, its your choice! Good luck! Get a gen 4 & then you can play with frame and spring changes too!
