My crappy Gainward GeForce3 (128MB) card is taking a dump, even as I type. I am looking for a new vid card. System Specs: MB: Gigabyte GA-8ST667-L Link to Gigabyte Motherboard Specs. CPU: Intel Celeron 1.7Mhz Memory: 1GB DDR 2700 Corsair Matched Pair HD0: 160GB Maxtor HD1: 160GB Maxtor DVD Burner: LG GSA-4163B CD-ROM: 8x Goldstar Operating Systems: Windows XP Pro and Fedora Core 1. I am looking at wiping my entire Operating systems drive (HD0), and installing Windows XP and several different flavors of Linux. What I use my Vid card for. Mainly I use it to surf the net, and read information and watch various videos, like those posted on GT. Not Porno! I rarely play any games, and when I do, they are older games that I can pick up for "5 for $10", so I do not need anything turbo charged or the likes. I want to keep my current box for another 2 years, then I will consider upgrading to something higher end, and that can support 8X or even the new 12X AGP. I just want something cheap, reliable, and that can run well under Linux. I am a neewbie when it comes to Linux, so I do not know how to "compile" and the likes, hence I need a card that can be as close to plug and play as possible. Thanks.
