Since it was a Saudi, the FBI will probably be reluctant to say to is anything but workplace violence. We cannot talk any smack about the nation, whose citizens made 9/11 happen.

    Simple question.

Where did he get the gun and ammo?

They raveled all over together, this terror cell. No doub't there was a 3rd party who armed them which means we still have rag's in the bush and they can pop up shooting, or worse, any time until we catch them.

NBC reported last night he was a foreign national and so couldn't normally purchase one. Yep, OK so far. But he exploited a loophole where he was allowed to purchase anyway because he had a Hunting license. Does that sound anyway feasible to you Florida folks. Send quite a stretch to me.

Doesn't appear feasible to me. Even if he describes himself as a " non-resident alien ". He is still not a FL resident.

To be a resident he has to show permanent residency as an alien.

    OTOH, this might allow it.

It is all very confusing to me. It looks like it depends on what documents got him here.

    https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/nonimmigrant-aliens-may-legally-buy-possess-firearms-us/

Nonimmigrant Aliens May Legally Buy and Possess Firearms in the US

    " But another requirement
    was added in 2015.

Domiciled in this state for at least six consecutive months immediately before the date of the application for a watercraft decal, hunting or fishing license, permit, tag or stamp and who does not claim residency for any purpose in any other state or country. "

Regardless. Would you sell to him?

Regardless. He is a terrorist killer.

I'm sure if he asked the right guy at a mosque(or a bar) he could get a gun the same day. Simple question why don't we let mid level NCO's and officers carry on post?

Well, we could throw the Dems a bone and close the "alien loophole" and watch then clamor to ensurre non-US citizen Jihadis have access to guns.

Armslist man... It's got what you need, FTF no questions asked... The guy flipping guns in the Taco Bell parking lot ain't asking for "permanent residency" cards...
Indeed, this is the "gun show loophole" that draws out a lot of histrionics from gun control advocates.
    It is what it is...

I get your point, a really do...
But "a guy named Mohammed" was also a 19 year old sailor, apparently a good kid, a standout athlete who was just trying to live his best life, and now that life is over..

Maybe a tidbit of respect is in order.

It's possible that they had external support, but not necessary... All it takes a few C notes and the inclination and a person can get a gun...

As terrorist attacks go, and no doubt this was one, it wasn't particularly complex...

"The FBI is investigating the shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday as an act of terror."

"Rachel Rojas, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Jacksonville Field Office, said in a news briefing Sunday that investigators are working with "the presumption that this was an act of terrorism."

I thought they were already holding some. Does that mean maybe 10 more ? If they are in the wind, I gotta assume they had some knowledge of it.

Hard to believe a terror cell that big on a Navy base going unnoticed.

    I hope they resist.
