You can see a Shuttle launch cloud from 30 miles away. This is a bit bigger.

    This line got me...

“The engineer recounted the scattered events of August 6—the blinding light, the deafening boom—but his superior accused him of being mad. How could a single bomb destroy an entire city? Yamaguchi was trying to explain himself when the landscape outside suddenly exploded with another iridescent white flash.”

    Talk about ending a debate...

Japan was such a nasty group of evil people. I would have dropped 100 more nukes given the option at the time.

Too bad we did not have the guts in north korea and north vietnam as well.. tired of these violent protifa.. scum terrorists as well. Portland and new york and minneapolis all would be better places with some helocopter based 50 cal machine gun fire into selected targets..

I think you are talking about the RDS220, the Tsar Bomba. 50 megatons, the largest nuclear device detonated. The test explosion destroyed buildings in a village 30 miles from ground zero. It was detonated at around 13,000 feet. I think the American bombs in Japan were fired at around 1,800’.
It was a 3 stage design but on the test bomb the third stage was replaced with a lead tamper instead of uranium to limit yield. I think they were worried that the bomber would not have been able to reach minimum safe distance by the time of detonation.

In full power configuration the yield was supposed to be 100 megatons.

    Scary $hit.

I couldn't agree MORE. To me it would mean we had to step it up again and that means mean and ugly has reared it's ugly head. Wish we could all just chill.

Bish.. the leftie terrorists are trying to destroy our country and complete economy. The democrats are on board for the overthrow and destruction of america. I am being chill.. I just think before we get to civil war levels of destruction we would be far better off as a nation killing off 5 or 10 thousand evil people planning on killing our country. Maybe that would break the trend the democrats have planned and can save many more people in the long run.
. Look at the death tolls from cival war battles and compare those huge numbers to killing ten thousand antifa communist/ socialist types and it would be far less destructive in the long run.

I think the us could be in a real shooting war with political groups on both sides. Seems by gun and ammo sales tens of thousands of people are gearing up for this potential battle. Police standing down and democrat govenors and mayors watching cities burn to the ground with no desire to stop the destruction can have far greater levels of death and economic and society collapse.

Ww2 changed america... vietnam changed america.. the stock market crash did the same.. would you rather get the situation under control now , or let this play out over 10 years of bloody war ??

My bad. I left out More in the first sentence. Very sorry for my lack of proof reading. I am going to fix it. Well written by the way.

After fighting from France into Germany, my Dad’s unit shipped out for the invasion of Japan, leaving Dad in a field hospital in France with dysentery.
After the A Bombs, the boats turned for America, in the middle of the ocean. They beat Dad home.
