The insurance company said the car is most likely totaled and they will give her cash when she gives them the title to the car. No one was hurt and I don't think it was her fault so it not so bad. Right wheel pointed right while the left one is pointed left. This can't bee good!

She told me that she had put the title in her safe deposit box at the bank. She discovered yesterday that the banks drive through line is open the rest of the bank is closed down for COVID-19.

I never dreamed the day would come when one would not be able to get into their own safe deposit box.

This is a sketch she made of the accident today. Yesterday she was running around taking blame for everything. I sent this drawing to the insurance agent and asked her to wait for the police report. She wrote me back saying that she would wait for the police report before assigning responsibility for the accident.

Call the bank and see what they can arrange for you to get the title out of the box. tom.

    Order a dupe title.
PA DOT has been pretty efficient lately.

I’ll guess the car merging from the entrance ramp is at fault. It’s their obligation to yield to traffic already in that lane.

Ask the bank if they could make accommodations to get the title. I would hope they could help you in a time of need. If the bank won’t help I’d order a duplicate title and find a new bank as that’s messed up. I know the one time I lost a title it only took about 2 weeks to come in which was faster than I thought.

No one was hurt and that’s all that matters.

In the state of Florida, all titles are now electronic. Check to see if your state offers the same service, maybe you can get it electronically.

I agree with oldmick. Entry ramps yield to highway traffic.

I'd bet the guy in the BMW believed some of the BMW hype and thought he could beat her while accelerating up the entrance ramp.

Due top all of the thin wires connecting the different computer modules, they have to total cars now that could have been fixed before all the computerization. Take the money and run.

That's not true in my experience. Any car accident that was bad enough to damage the computers or important "wires" would total the car just from the structural damage anyway and the computers had no bearing. perhaps true for airbags if you consider them a part of computerization. Most cars are totaled if they had airbag deployments.

That sucks! My local bank finally opened the lobby back up. It had been drive thru window only.

I think you are correct. The way my wife's bumper is pushed away from the body of the car and the way the wheel is pushed in, the BMW must have hit her at a high fairly high speed. My wife's airbags did not deploy so I think that means she did not hit anything. She was hit.

My wife was upset and running around saying "It's all my fault." That's just her silly nature and way of avoiding confrontations. She was rattled and did not know what had happened. It was only after looking at the damage to her car and making my wife draw me a sketch that I was able to see what happened. When she told the lady from her insurance company that it was her fault. The insurance lady took her had her word and had assigned the blame to to her. After I sent the insurance lady the same photos I posted here, the lady said she will wait for the police report before making a decision. I just hope she was telling the cop that it was all her fault. Arrrgh. It's a good thing she is cute!

My bank had a note on the door for a number to call if you had to get in the lobby for the safe deposit boxes or had an appointment to sign stuff. Call the bank.

This. Our banks were 'by appointment only' other than drive-through. Had no problems getting in to do business that had to be done physically (safe deposit box and money wire transfers).

Edit: try email or a different number than you tried: local branch, head office.
