Just what I needed. Waiting on someone to come look at it. Every few months something goes wrong with this stupid house.

More times than not it is usually the pressure switch. Ants and bugs can get in it and block the points from making contact. If you're electrically inclined you can pick up a pressure switch from an irrigation installer or maybe even Lowes and install it yourself.

Check/reset the breakers for the well pump in your electrical service panel.

Yep. You can save a lot of $$$ if you have basic knowledge, tools.
First is the breaker tripped? (bad wire, damaged capisitator) You can pick up new unit for $50 at home improvement store. It ONE screw and done. (that won't cover a service call on Sunday) Is your tank "waterlogged" a new tank is easy fix (if you have tools, new PVC, Pipe. $150 +- depending on size. The (Dang can't think of term) EDIT of course the PRESSURE SWITCH :0 The unit that regulates on/off based on pressure in system. Its a $20 thing that has connections for wires, a thin waterline to it, springs, contacts. (also easy fix)

Any of those parts if you have plumber/well driller bring them they will charge you over TWICE the cost (for exact same model number/brand as home improvement store. (reminds me I need to buy spares again as it has been couple yrs)
A $20 multi tester, (asking plumber what he is checking if you don't know) and next time even if you can't fix it you can eliminate many issues.
I know if a well driller needs to bring the "lift truck" to pull pump out of well when I call. Or if his service truck is enough.

How do they know the pump is bad if they don't know where the well is? The pump is in the well unless there is another way that I don't know of.:dunno:

Checked electrical connectors in the basement and it came back bad.

I would assume that they would use a locater to follow the power lines to the well instead of digging up the yard.

    What do I know?:dunno:

Good luck, sorry you are having problems, maybe it will be a quick fix.:wavey:

My neighbors well pump quit working last year, he called me to troubleshoot it. Ended up being a loose wire nut.

I can't understand why someone hasn't built a pressure switch that can keep out the bugs. It's a problem I've had at least twice. I don't see any reason they can't stop that from happening.

They apparently didn't do that 60 years ago when they built this house.

Sounds like your going to need alot of $$$$.....I would think there would have to be a small wellhouse or pipe coming out of the ground somewhere on the property with a submersible??? Been that way here since I worked on them 40+ yrs. Dunno??? How deep is your water table???

When we bought our home it came with a plat that labeled things like the well and septic lines.
