Well after many years of keeping off the LEO's radar, I screwed up and broke the law. I was on my way down to my brothers place to do some hunting. And while passing through Carlton NV I broke the speed limit in a school zone - totally my bag as I just came off the interstate - zoned out and didn't notice the lights flashing- totally in the wrong! Well the very professional Carlton PD pulled me over and gave me what for- greatly deserved. He let me off with a warning. Yes I was carrying - well OC as my permit doesn't allow NV carry -pistol laying in open on front seat. He never even inquired about it!
I was very greatful for the warning as it would have been $600 fine! Lesson learned I will strive to stay off LEO's radar for along time! By the way Chukar hunting was great!

Similar thing happened to us in New Mexico, but none of us was carrying. We were coming back from my Mother in Laws funeral. My Brother in Law was driving. Came into town right into a school zone.

Doing 35, the posted limit right before the school zone. Didn't notice the drop to 20 or the flashing lights. Officer was very nice about it, and let us go with a warning.

He was very professional and chewed my butt! No vulgar language, but stern! I do believe he could have cuffed and stuffed me cause the fine was large enough!

Yep same deal 35 mph to 20 mph -15 when lights flashing! There were no chidren present and he said that was the only reason why it was a warning! Lucky me!:whistling:
