My old balinese is having a tail problem

    She's always had very expressive body language and an exceptionally active tail. Tonight I noticed her dragging it some.

    The base of the tail seems to be working normally but about 25% of the way down the tail it seems to be lifeless. She obviously knows it's not working correctly and when she sits she takes extra steps so as to arrange it.

    I felt the length of the tail and she did not respond as if there were any sensitive areas that might indicate a break, but it's very strange and is definitely worrying me.

    I've looked at http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cats_with_broken_tails.html and will keep an eye on her for additional symptoms. Any additional input would be appreciated.
