After owning a Steyr C9-A1 back in 2009... I go the itch again for the redheaded stepchild from Austria.. Steyr! AKA the Star Wars Storm Trooper Striker-Fired Weapon!!

No they aren't as polished in some areas as Gaston's product but Wilhelm Bubits worked his MOJO while designing this platform. Their only downfall is not as strong as an aftermarket for holsters, mags, etc.... But it's a Damn Fine Pistol line of I say so myself.... Traded a beater SD40VE & about $250 and walked out with this Aussie Kompact.... Any other fellow Steyrites on GT?

Love them...would love one in 9mm, and actually I think they are BETTER built than Glocks...dare I say(yes I do dare actually) say they are just about on par with HK build wise. All the ones ive messed with were like bank vaults(tight and polished in their fit)..The one I had didnt rattle like a tin can with rocks in it then id shake it side to side like my Glock 23 did.

They are definitely a higher quality pistol than Glock, in my opinion.

Good choice DaBurna! I own 3 Steyrs myself, they are one of the best striker fired guns out there.

How do they compare in price to a Glock?

About the same. They used to be even less.

It's HK quality at Glock prices.

When I got my M9a1 a couple years back, it was $500 new. Don't know the current price. Steyrclub.com is the source for all things Steyr.

I wish Steyr would bring the Pre-A back to the US. It has THE most clever safety -takes two fingers to engage, but the release is a small lever that appears at the top of the trigger housing, so one flick with the trigger finger while it is in the guard, and the safety is off.

Might have to do some research and find one of these to buy eventually then. I like to have variety.

When you say Star Wars Stormtrooper Striker Fired weapon, does that mean it can't hit what it's aiming at? :wow:

    Nice.

Been kicking around the idea of a M9-A1 or L9-A1.

Have you broken it in yet?

My M40 is very controllable, but I have 0 knowledge about the 357.

I should probably take another photo of my M9-A1 with the can on it, I only have a couple variations of this:

so I feel like a broken record reposting it. Oh well.

Great gun. Love the ergos and grip angle.
