..I broke down, had to have it. I remember my P30, great gun minus the trigger so this is great gun, great trigger thus far....oh yeah, much better price than the P30. The first gun the shop received yesterday was a California edition with 10 mags, don't think so but they put a standard model on the shelf today. Got it for $625 plus tax. No range time yet but there are a few range threads I see. Here it is alone and compared to my Gen 4 G17, very similar in size. I think the VP9 should have 17 rounds for its size but is what it is. I was thinking about the Sig 320 but I'm peculiar about my Sigs now, I like my DA/SA Sig.

Congrats, so far it seems HK did this gun right. Everyone who owns one has been generally pleased with the trigger action and shooting performance.

Congrats, bunk! Just waiting for mine to arrive. I ordered it as part of the group buy on another forum.

Started getting some magazines ready yesterday at the range with my P30L. What a great gun, too. Can't wait to see how the VP9 runs.

Just shot it, about 250 rounds...100 Blazer 115gr, 100 Tula Brass 115gr, 50 HST 124gr JHP, 40 PDX1 147gr JHP and 20 PDX1 124 +p....of course no issues at all. Great trigger, probably one of the best I've experienced from a polymer out of the box. I don't own a PPQ but close to that, maybe not as good but I don't own one so hard to compare (I've shot about 500 rounds through a range PPQ). The ergo's are fantastic, the sights are okay but IMO, the trigger makes the gun. It's more accurate than I'll ever be though I was just at a range window tonight and furthest I shot was about 15 yards. What can I say that hasn't been said by others on the websites and video's, great gun especially given the price for an HK. I was wrong earlier, I paid $645 plus tax.

Hope they come out with the compact soon.... that's going to be a really really hot little item.

    HK VP9 Trigger Issue.

I handled and dry fired a new unfired HK VP9 today that was just purchased by a friend why was ready to send it back to HK. I talked him into calling the selling dealer who has a gunsmith.
He was told to bring it back and let the gunsmith check it out.
After a slightly rough take up the trigger would hit a snag then jerk and hit the wall. The trigger pull at the wall and the reset worked great but the pre travel was not good at all.
The spring on the right side inside the frame is catching on the polymer where it connects at the bottom.
The sloped rear sight is not made for racking the slide. The charging handles hit your hand hard when aggressively using the over hand method racking the slide.
I will post more after the pistol is fixed or replaced. I am looking forward to shooting it.

Congrats OP. Lots of positive reports out there.

Shame, first negative I've heard about the gun. Keep us posted on the outcome.

I've gone through a lot of handguns, fired many more, and haven't purchased many quality handguns, the PPQ comes to mind for example. As for my handguns, what I've owned and own, I will say this VP9 is in the top three thus far based on overall ergo's, fit and finish, and trigger. Reliability has yet to be determined.

So my personal top three are: my Zev Tech Tier 1 Gen 3 G17, my Sig M11A1 and the VP9. At this point, if I could have only three handguns from my collection, those three would be it. My other Sigs, my Gen 4 G17, the efficiency of the G19 as a cc gun are all awesome but based on what I personally like in a handgun, those three are it.

IMO, the best triggers out of the box (Zev Tech's doesn't count) is this VP9 and the Walther PPX. Love the Sig SRT due to its short reset as I think Sig triggers are the same otherwise.

I think it could be fixed with a little plastic surgery where the spring is binding but since it is NIB the owner wants HK or the dealer to do the work. I can see his point.

Every gun will have issues, be it trigger, extraction, etc, etc. You make 100,000 guns, there are going to be an x amount with problems.

I certainly don't blame him. Gun should work correctly right out of the box.
