Hello all, I just wanted to share the trade I just completed. A local fellow wanted to trade his gen1 glock for a 92fs. I just so happened to have one that I payed 400 dollars for from a guy on the same local classified ads, so I told him I would trade. He offered me 50 bucks on top of the Glock to make up the difference. I would have given him $50 if he had asked.

I met up with him and received this...much nicer than I expected....

It is an AX prefix G17, look new as it could after 26 years. It still has the old internals, the non captivated recoil spring and such. Also in the box has the original instuctions, still sealed in plastic. There is a sticker outside that says "11-20-1986" stuck on the outside. It came with two old style magazines and the loader and brush and such.

The guy I traded said he bought it from the original owner about 20 years ago, and it has sat in his safe since. After stripping it, I do believe him. It has been shot a bit, but not much at all.

It has adjustable sights on it, I do not know enough about gen1's to know if that was an option, I hope one of you can tell me. They defiantly look factory to me.

Just wanted to share this with you guys as I am way excited to add this to my stable. BTW it joins my Austrian Proofed gen3 19, my Standard serration G19rtf2 and my plain old Glock 26.

    Cheers!

You made out like a bandit on that one.

My G17 Gen 1 has adjustable sights and those same old style mags.

    Congrats on a nice find!

The sight is original equipment, but not very durable, it doesn't take much of a bump to break it.

Also, I don't have prefix 'AX' in my serial number project yet.....what is the three letter date code on the barrel to the far right of the serial number?

    Thanks!

Thanks all! I was very excited, I figured that this would turn out to be a gen2 when I met up with the guy. I know I am very lucky to get this. I will replace the 92fs when I can.

The 3 digit code on the barrel is PTH, which happens to be the serial number prefix on my glock 26. Weird

Yup.....what are the chances of that happening? :wow:

PTH shows it was made in August of 1986 (and it was imported to the US in September).

Congratulations, even the case is quite rare, it has the pegs to hold ammunition.
