Great choice (gun and magazines). I love to see LEOs carrying a 1911-just makes me feel safer.

Great choice, thank you for serving and be safe out there.
Where are you a police officer if I might ask? Here in Florida almost all departments issue you a Glock and almost none approve the 1911 or single action pistols even for off duty usage. Im just curious.

I know Lakeland PD allowed 1911's on duty if you qualified with them.

    Suburb of Birmingham, AL.

We are allowed to carry Semi Automatic's in 9mm, 40 caliber, 45 ACP.

Or, we may carry a revolver, but no magnum calibers :crying:

We had officers carrying .357 magnum's (w/.38special +P Hollow Points) and a .45 Long Colt .

This is the norm around here, except for Birmingham PD (no 1911's)

But, they are trying to get it approved.

Mountain Brook PD issues Glock 9mm's or you buy your own. Do not know if they allow 1911's.

UAB Police issue XD's in 40 caliber.

    Birmingham PD issue is the S & W M & P 9mm with Night Sights.

You have got to be one of the coolest cops around, from the bad ass gun to the bad ass car.
Good to see a department that keeps up with the times.

Usually when I see an officer with a 1911 on it tells me that they are one of the few that probably knows how to shoot.

    Good choice and great gun.

Just some FYI, I have the same gun and my WC 47D's have been a mess. I have two new 47Ds and they are junk in my 1911. I was shocked due to their reputation but I use them for range only. I use CMC Mags and they have been 1000%

I think that officers who post on forums are well rounded individuals, that have a outlet for their high stress, low paying jobs, nice gun! Always nice to see an 1911!
