In NC they have 45 days to issue or deny after all requested medical records have been received, which can apparently take 3 months.

I applied 3 weeks ago and they said it would take 90-120 days.

Was told they only have 4 people processing them for Texas, and it just depends on who's desk it lands on. Sent mine in 2 weeks after my buddy, got mine back 2 weeks before he got his. Guess he had to wait for somebodies vacation.

It's ridiculous. And while it's been a couple months since I was there I remember going there just after the shooting and they had a LONE armed guard (hired in, not CTC Security) at the theater/food court. To make people feel better I guess :dunno:

Ironic. Nobody wants guns in the mall because somebody will shoot it up, and when somebody does shoot it up what do they do? They hire somebody to stand around the mall with a gun.

Appointments for turning in applications, fingerprints and photos are are booked
for the next 18 months. After that applications are usually ruled on within 60 days.

And then you may be approved for "Home or target use" only.

Isn't there something you can do to check-up on it?

I mean it's over due, there has got to be a problem somewhere.

I'm usually distracted when entering places that have the "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED" signs, as long as it's a private entity.

Might all the oil workers flooding in be part of the reason?

I've heard scary stories of crazy trailer parks, RV lots, and straight up shantytowns springing up overnight up there. Boom towns tend to have a downside.

Took me six months to get mine initially, but that was a dozen years ago in California when permits were pretty rare.

Man, that really sucks. Assuming you paid by check/money order, have they been cashed? Any chance it was lost in the mail.

Makes me thankful for a lifetime permit.. don't have to deal w/ the renewal silliness anymore.
