Last night, I picked up a pristine Colt AR-15 A2 Govt Carbine (AR6520) that I bought from a guy on another forum. I could not be more pleased. The AR6520 came with a host of goodies (2 Colt 30-round magazines, unused cleaning kit in the original OD canvas pouch, unused lubricant bottle, black silent sling, factory plastic storage bag, and an operator's manual for: M4 Carbine, M4 Commando, M16 Carbine, and 9mm SMG).

It is a welcome addition to my Colt AR family .

The AR6320, AR6520, and LE6920 are all "Restricted Military/Government/Law Enforcement/Export Use Only" marked.

That’s really nice. I bet you are looking forward to shooting it. When was it manufactured? I’m a big fan of carry handles, especially if they don’t come off.

Trying to find out exactly when it was made. From what I can find, it is somewhere between 2009 and 2011. I called Colt today, but they are closed due to the hurricane. Hopefully, Colt will be open in the next day or so. No plans to shoot it as it appears that it has not been fired since leaving Colt. There is no wear whatsoever on the internals, not a scratch. There are only a couple handling nicks on the exterior.

I knew you would like it. I had been looking to get the cousin to the AR6320 for a while and this one fell into my lap and the price was right.

I got a hold of Colt this afternoon. It was made in 2010. That falls right in line with where I read elsewhere that it could be from 2009-2011. 2010 puts it 8 years later than my AR6320 and 2 years later than my LE6920.

Those are hard to find these days. ARs get heavy really quickly and the pencil barrel A2 uppers start out as lightweight as it gets
