Alright, I'm pretty young. I've been shooting since I was eleven but I've decided to wait to buy my own guns until I was twenty one. Mainly because I wanted to move out and if I had been buying guns I wouldn't have had the money. It has a very long depressing and stressful wait but I'm finally turning twenty one. I already have five guns, most are practice guns such as .22's and a couple shotguns but...So as far a wish list goes, I'm trying to keep it down to twelve guns that I can obtain within the next 6 years.

    So here goes...

    1. Springfield 1911 .45ACP
    2. Springfield M1A .308
    3. Glock19 9mm
    4. RRA AR-15 5.56x45
    5. Makarov 9x18Mak
    6. Saiga 7.62x39
    7. Ruger .357Mag
    8. Ruger BoltAction 30-06
    9. Ruger LCR .38Spl
    10. Mossberg 12Ga

    What do you guys think?
I'd also like to add two more guns of more uncommon caliber, preferably a rifle or handgun. Please feel free to add input on calibers or guns that I may need to add. I want a very balanced collection that kinda has a theme. For instance, the Springfields go together, the Glock and AR are both black "evil" guns. The Makarov and Saiga are both Russian, the Rugers go together. The shotgun, just because everyone needs a shotgun and I already have a hunting shotty so I need a tactical one as well. The snubby just because I'll be getting my carry permit someday soon so I'll need something light and concealable and I love snubbies.

But anyways, feel free to tell me how stupid my list is.
    Any input is welcome.

Nice, I'm satisfied with my G29sf but I do want me a nice Mini-14 with a flash suppressor.

My Grandpa has a Mini-14. I never fired it though. I've heard too many bad things about them unfortunately. I always want to love Ruger products but sometimes I just cant get over the bad hype.

Are you considering reloading? If so you might not want so varied a caliber collection.

The only hole I see is a nice lever action rifle. Maybe in .357 would be nice so you don't add a caliber.

:crying:Sucks to hear that, my cousin owns a mini-14 and that things is a beauty. He mainly carries it around his ranch, being it's a ranch rifle, But I always was a sucker for wood stock long guns.

+1 on skipping the Mossyberg, I would dream a little more nicer on the shotgun.

Yeah, I actually want to add a .45LC lever action and a Ruger Vaquero .45LC but I've left two open slots in case something more important comes along.

BUT yes, I will eventually get into reloading.
I'll save all my empties for future reloading but I'll probably wait until I'm a few years older and wiser to actually start reloading.

The only problem with that is I want to buy less guns and more ammo to shoot them with. :p But yeah, its definitely hard to only buy a few. I'll probably end up buying more later on but for the next few years I'm going to buy whats on this list unless something comes along that I absolutely have to have right then. But I doubt it since I am perfectly certain that those are the ones I'll be wanting. I know because I've fired most of em.

The law's on firearms are sad these days, not to mention the prices.
But I've actually bought my own gun before. Just a little .22 handgun to practice with. Bought it when I was fifthteen. I also got my first shotgun when I was eleven and another shotgun when I was sixteen. I'm thinking about giving my uncle a call. He spends all day every day researching guns. Might be able to get me some good deals since he seems to know a lot of dealers.

I do this first and formost, these are the guns I reload for and collect the most ammo for. The rest are just for collection purposes and have minimum ammo stockpile.
4 rifles in .223 two long guns/ two assault rifles
2 pistols in 9mm for close quarters combat
3 shotguns in 12ga for home defense/ close encounters
2 rifles and 2 pistols in .22 for fun/ practice/ small game hunting
All of these take common ammo, all the others are just for show and tell.

At least thats how I see it, looks like you have a fun, well rounded list. A couple of old milsurp bolt actions would make nice additions too.

Sounds like we think alike. =)

This is exactly how I'll be doing my collection but in a slightly broader range of calibers. I didn't bother mentioning .22's because I already have two .22 handguns and one .22 rifle. I also have a 20Ga shotgun for shooting skeet.
