    Hello all,
This site helped me make my decision on a new Glock 40 so I thought I would post my first rounds. After installing a Vortex Razor for my sight, I went to the range to try it out.

The below picture is after I sighted in the gun at 10 yards and then went to 30. Please keep in mind I was not using a rest. All in all I am happy. IF YOU PLAN TO USE IT FOR HUNTING YOU SHOULD UPGRADE THE TRIGGER, as I plan to. I found it very hard to be accurate at 20+ with a standard trigger. Im excited to go javelina hunting in Arizona next month.

This weekend I plan to shoot using a rest to see what the weapon is really capable of. I will post an update

I wish you guys would stop posting about your new G40's. Every time I think I can get by without one, someone posts 'my new G40'. Damn........

Nortonw, which size "Dot " did you get, 3 or 6? I also have recently bought a Model 40 MOS and keep going back and forth trying to decide which sight to purchase. It seems most of the have either a 3 moa or a 8moa. It seems there is either a small dot or an overly large dot. I might use it for a couple matches, probably more for general shooting/carry. I guess what I'm saying is the larger dots seem too large and cover a lot of the target. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cherokee, in the video above I mention that exact issue. My delta point is a 7.5 triangle. Nice and fast for up close work. For me the ideal size would be 4 MOA. I like a small dot for longer range.

love mine. Though I have had issues finding suppressor sights that will work with my red dot. Ended up taking the FFIII off and going open sights till I figure out what I am going to do.

Congrats!! Great choice for a hunting gun.

I'm so happy with how well the 40 shoots (even without a red dot mounted on it yet) that i just sold off the 20SF

    who made your carry rig??

Gunfightersinc. http://gunfightersinc.com/?product=kenai-chest-holster-for-compact-and-full-size-9mm-40-glock A little expensive, but really done well and very comfy, plus my wife got it for me for Christmas. They are sellers on Amazon also, so if you do not order custom, ships quick. Really like it for woods/camping/hiking/hunting. Can wear it over/under my coat. Since it is kydex, I would unholster once setup in my stand when hunting.

Green Mountain Boy, how low does the Leupold sit? Can you mic it from the back to top of slide? It almost looks like the rear sight is able to make it over? I bought some Ameriglo suppressor sights for mine to cowitness with my FFIII, and the rear isn't high enough... Debating returning to Amazon or trying a different optic...

Rear sight doesn't make it over the Detapoint.

thanks! I think the suppressor sights I have would clear that. Looks even with the Deltapoint and stock rear sight. Though I don't like the gaps the Deltapoint leaves on the slide.

I wonder how high the trijicon and vortex sit? My LGS has a venom he would let me sit in there.

    Good video and posts.
I bought mine about six weeks ago and installed a Vortex Razor 3 MOA Red Dot. I like the dot but it is too high to cowitness with suppressor sights.
I also found the trigger to tough to make the shots I wanted at 50 yards. I could keep them in about 4-5" group but the trigger pull was messing me up.
I just put the Zev kit in with connector and lighter springs and it really eased the trigger pull. No more hard crunch to get it to fire. I haven't been back to the range yet but I think the groups will be better.
I bought it mainly to hunt pigs with, something we can do all year here in Georgia on private land.
I am using a bandolier type holster I already had but after a few hunts I might look into the Kenai or similar chest holster. G40 Glock 12 2015.jpg
