This morning, I awoke with a song playing in my head. Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon, which I'm listening to as I type this. Pretty good way to start your morning!!!

    So, I have some questions;

Ozzy starts in Black Sabbath, in the 70s and 80s, in what was then probably a pretty conservative and God-fearing England. They're playing quasi-satanic, sort-of evil rock music, and probably scaring the living crap out of a lot of people. And they were wildly successful doing so. Biting the heads off bats, stage shows that looked like Halloween year 'round.

That was all just marketing and showmanship, right? They didn't start as a group of Satanists and then decide to make music, right? That was a specific brand of entertainment, correct?

If you find Ozzy’s songs quasi satanic, you obviously don’t know the lyrics.

Nothing to add other than the fact that I'm about to binge on some Ozzy.

His lyrics are actually quite amazing. I remember when I was a kid, my dad thought Crazy Train was evil. What? I even tried to get him to read the lyrics. Nope. It’s evil.

literally a song about wanting people to come together. Nope. Scary guitars, scary man. Evil.

I think it was true it was people like you that crucified Christ
I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced
Will you be so sure when your day is near, say you don't believe?
You had the chance but you turned it down, now you can't retrieve

I hold the orignal Black Sabbath in high esteem. They were originators. But when comparing most things today to back then, they are far from the limit.

I saw Ozzy in Dallas with Randy Rhoads. Motorhead opened, it was a hell of a show!

I’m just curious, I don’t know the lyrics. Are you saying his songs are fully satanic or not satanic at all?

    So evil

    All aboard!
    Hahahahaha
Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye...
Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
    Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love and forget how to hate
    Mental wounds not healing
    Life's a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I've listened to preachers, I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role
    Mental wounds still screaming
    Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
    Yeah
Heirs of a cold war, that's what we've become
    Inheriting troubles, I'm mentally numb
    Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair
    Mental wounds stop healing
    Who and what's to blame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

Yep. There's a dvd rip version floating around the internets. 560p resolution. It's been years since I got it but still might be scrounge-able. Filename is:
