I've had this on layaway for several months now and just brought it home last Friday. I stopped by the local outdoor range on the way home and range 200 rounds of WWB fmj. I couldn't have asked for a better experience the first time out with a new gun, definitely a keeper!

As soon as my leather arrives this will replace my 1911 Mil-Spec as my primary carry. Before then I've got a set of TFO nightsights I need to install and I'm planning to add a steel guide rod w/ 22 lb. Wolff spring. Looking at Cor-bon 115gr DPX or Speer 125gr +P for carry ammo.

    Here's 30 rounds at 5yds:

I see more Glocks in my future: Either a 26, 29 or 30 (or all three).

Very nice piece Jack. Just what I'm on the hunt for too!

Nothing wrong with a good 1911 either, but I agree that the G19 tops one for carry.

What a great pistol, ani't they just!?!

If you get the G26, you might not go back to the G19. Mine sits in the safe now; I wouldn't sell it, but I don't use it that much since getting my G26.

The G29 is a great choice too. I would love a 10mm GLOCK.

I like the OD green, it makes a great contrast to all those boring black GLOCKs. I wish I would have found one when I was purchasing my GLOCKs.

I love my OD G-19, just be prepared to answer a lot of questions about your color choice.

I've resorted to saying "Because I like it!"

    I think they look great.

Wow, lots of replies - thanks guys. As far as why I chose the OD version, the gun shop I use had just been to a local show and the OD was the only G19 they had in stock ... and they only had one of those.

The guy at the counter offered to order a black one for me but since Glock's OD is closer to tan than green I kind of liked it - if it'd looked like Springfield's XD green I would've ordered a black one.

I'm on a small disability pension from my job and the shop gives me good deals on layaways. They charge 20% down, a 2% monthly service charge and unlimited time to pay off guns - and they usually cut me some slack on the 20% if it's an expensive gun. Gotta support local shops that are willing to work deals!

That's nice. I've got a Gen 3 G19 frame that I have made into a dedicated .22 with the AA conversion. I'm planning to send the frame off to be refinished in FDE. I'm glad I got to see a picture of one.
