Graduating... from a walker to a cane, as soon as I can get the cane for her. She has finished her therapy. She’s still not as “balanced” as we would like, but it’s just a matter of working on it by walking and exercising when she can at home. When she gets her cane, she will have to start going for walks up and down the block to build her muscles back up. She took 3 steps yesterday!!!! She nearly fell, but she took 3 steps!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the prayers! God Bless you all!! Please keep up the prayers for a little while longer over this...I would very much like for her to be able to drive again.

This is amazing after her being confined to a wheelchair for 4 months and using a walker since March!

    Great news!
Get the best physical therapist you can afford. It makes a big difference in recovery, both in time and mobility.

I missed the backstory, but that doesn't matter...

For those who missed the original story...

On Oct 3rd, last year...Ranger woke up with no use of her legs. She threw herself onto the floor and crawled to the bathroom and that is where the ambulance crew took her from. They transported her to the ER and then she was transferred to the hospital for a 3 day stay. They couldn't find anything physically wrong. The diagnoses was "conversion disorder", she has PTSD and depression...they say she had something "trigger" that response from her brain. She was originally put in a wheelchair. That lasted 4 months...and then in March, she got a walker. She has been in therapy for months...and they now say she is ready to go to a cane.

    Great news!

I have a friend who was on one of the mystery diagnosis type shows. Same symptoms, was given the same diagnosis, but it turned out she actually has neuromyelitis optica (Devic's disease) and the paralysis was a result of transverse myelitis ( lesions on her spinal cord). I know conversion disorder happens, I just hope that you and Ranger feel satisfied that they truly ruled out any other physical cause and didn't rush to judgement.

I'm really glad to see she is improving.
