WHAT'S HE NEED TO DO ?
Follow the instructions on the certificate, that's all.
Assuming GSSF doesn't have his SSN, sit and wait for a form letter from GSSF asking him to send it to them. Then wait for for the Certificate, then get an originally-signed license from his FFL to send to Glock with the completed Cert and any upgrade $$, then wait for his pistol. He wasn't in a hurry, was he?
He could be getting that signed FFL while he's waiting. If his FFL doesn't want to give up an original signature copy, he can have the FFL send it to Glock along with his Certificate.
I think that's it!
Yeah... or follow the instructions on the certificate.
he got the Certificate in the mail today
and they did not ask for his ss#on the form
The SSN request was a separate letter - not on the cert.
I think I was on the cusp for the year with $100, a knife and then the gun. Don't know what they value the gun at, but I believe the Federal cutoff is $600. I value the gun cert at $398.20 (+ $100 + $33 knife) = $531.20. dunno... Apparently, one gun (only) does not reach the Federal threshold.
If he has his cert in hand, all the instructions are on there!
Tell your friend to turn the certificate over and read the back side.
Or forget all this worthless advice and just send it to me!
If he lives within driving distance of Ed's, they will give him a gun out their stock for the certificate. He will not have the long wait from the factory that way. (Check first with Ed's to be sure he still does this.) I am not sure, but I believe they do not to this for out-of-state members.
Ed does this as a favor for GSSF members & does not make one red cent on the deal!
I'm afraid we no longer are filling these orders from our stock. The best way to get the pistol will be to simply follow the instructions on the back of the certificate.
