just a standing around, doing what they do.
He's my main ride these days.
He looks like he's posing for that last pic!
You bribing him with apples, or is he a natural born ham?
I think he was just standing there looking at something. Other farm animals, I suppose.
If I was inside the fence, he probably would have walked up to me, and wouldn't have had the same pose.
Main Ride? Looks like he's ready to go to a Horse Show!
Someone wanted to see some pics, so here's some more
Darn wife likes harnessess, and they are expensive (both the wife and the harness!)
This is the pic in my avatar. My brother's setup.
A friend's red perch and foal
And the last one for now. Another of the red perch and foal.
Ok, what is a perch? Female horse?
I thought it was a fish ;g
Abbreviation for Percheron draft horse. Origins from France as war horses in the middle ages. Usually regarded as one of the more versatile heavy draft horses, used for work pulling, show driving, riding, and cross-breeding for hunter/jumpers.
Usually black or grey, with the distinctive neck visible in the first pic of the red perch I posted (of her getting up next her foal).
Perches are sooo beautiful. I volunteer at an equestrian rehab center up the road for nine hours or so a week, and the best is getting to help the kids harness them, and then watching them drive.
Your missing out. You should be learning to drive.
When someone says they are working their equine, that means that are pulling a wagon or some other type of implement with the animal.
Thanks for the pics. They are fabulous. Tell your wife I envy her set up. It is very nice.
