So, as the title states, I really needed to use a rest room, Stopped in a local shop to use the facilities, and walked out with a IWI Masada,
the pistol comes in a nice cardboard box, 3 back straps, multiple Optic plates and screws in addition the usual lock, manual and paper work.

The pistol itself is a modular system, looks like every other black polymer striker fired pistol. In my opinion I see a lot of previous designs in it, the over all shape kind of reminds me of a HK VP9, the grip a Walther PPQ and the slide reminds me of a Ruger and a touch of SW Sigma.....a orgy of Pistol DNA. The Optic mounting system is simple and robust.

The over quality seems very good, but it feels very plastic, the polymer does not seem as substantial as HK VP9 or Beretta APX, not a bad thing just different.

The biggest surprise was the trigger, it is superior to anything that Austrian polymer pistol has every produced out of the box.
I have put about 200 boring rounds down range, I literally took it out of the box and shot 100 rounds, mechanically it ran perfect.

My disappointment was the stock OEM sights, they are calibrated for 25 yards and shooting threw the 3 dots.....I HATE them, I was grouping well but shooting very low, but and a very big but, the Masada will accept SIG #8 sights,
So to the parts bin, I found an old set of SIG #8 night sights (dead of course) So I blacked out the rear, and painted the front florescent green. Installed them and another 100 rounds, and it was a tac driver, :)

So the big question...is it the next best Glock killer?
    NO.
But it is a well thought out, fully ambidextrous pistol, with a very decent trigger (yes I will work on it) Modular, Optics ready , 2 x 17 round mags and 3 back straps for $425-$450.00
In my opinion it is a great deal, especially for those wanting to get into the RMR game with out a big investment.
So to summarize do not stop at a Gun Shop to use the facilities.

Nice review, even if it did start with a trip to the toilet. [IMG]

You can buy guns in the bathroom?

Don't tell the Gov of Virginia. . . He'll propose a law to close the Bathroom Loophole. .

Can you post a pic with the small back strap? I am curious as to how "flat" it is.

    Nice addition.

Sheldon Cooper (of the Big Bang Theory) says if you go into the store to use the restroom that you need to "buy" something. Well played!

    Thank you for the pics!!

I have small hands, (thanks mom), so I have to use the S backstrap.

I am very interested in the Masada.

    That's a bad ass pistol.

    17+1 rounds works.

Good buy.................I'm always looking for places to use the restroom. Have to try the local Gun shop.

It does look rather H&K-esque, which is nice because IMHO I consider H&K's ergo's to be very hard to beat.

I recently saw one of these pistols in a display case while I was doing a quick scan, but didn't ask to look at it; the next time I think I'll ask to handle one if I come across another, for a close look-see. I mentioned in an earlier thread about these pistols that I felt that the Masada pistol had some nice features (optic ready, numerous grip panels) and was very reasonably priced. And lastly, what I always consider to be an important consideration is that the Israeli's seem to make darn sure that they have a well designed and proven reliable product before they publicly introduce and offer it, which to me is the real icing on the cake :D

    Congrats Mr. grecco!

It reminds me of the VP9...

    Congrats!

Even though some new guns interest me. I am pretty much sticking with Glock/HK & Sig.. and trying to stick with the same caliber and/or mags for the platform...

I agree about the mags....so here is alittle bit of info that may help you spend $$
The Archon will accept Mec Gar CZ SP01 mags.
The CZ P07 will accept standard CZ75 mags, Sig p226 and P228 ( doesnt lock back the slide on last shot ) mags.

The Archon also accepts the Sphinx SDP mags (not viceversa, floor plate issue).
