So, as the title states, I really needed to use a rest room, Stopped in a local shop to use the facilities, and walked out with a IWI Masada, the pistol comes in a nice cardboard box, 3 back straps, multiple Optic plates and screws in addition the usual lock, manual and paper work. The pistol itself is a modular system, looks like every other black polymer striker fired pistol. In my opinion I see a lot of previous designs in it, the over all shape kind of reminds me of a HK VP9, the grip a Walther PPQ and the slide reminds me of a Ruger and a touch of SW Sigma.....a orgy of Pistol DNA. The Optic mounting system is simple and robust. The over quality seems very good, but it feels very plastic, the polymer does not seem as substantial as HK VP9 or Beretta APX, not a bad thing just different. The biggest surprise was the trigger, it is superior to anything that Austrian polymer pistol has every produced out of the box. I have put about 200 boring rounds down range, I literally took it out of the box and shot 100 rounds, mechanically it ran perfect. My disappointment was the stock OEM sights, they are calibrated for 25 yards and shooting threw the 3 dots.....I HATE them, I was grouping well but shooting very low, but and a very big but, the Masada will accept SIG #8 sights, So to the parts bin, I found an old set of SIG #8 night sights (dead of course) So I blacked out the rear, and painted the front florescent green. Installed them and another 100 rounds, and it was a tac driver, So the big question...is it the next best Glock killer? NO. But it is a well thought out, fully ambidextrous pistol, with a very decent trigger (yes I will work on it) Modular, Optics ready , 2 x 17 round mags and 3 back straps for $425-$450.00 In my opinion it is a great deal, especially for those wanting to get into the RMR game with out a big investment. So to summarize do not stop at a Gun Shop to use the facilities.
