    Hey all!

Glad to be a part of the forum! I've been a fan of Gaston's invention since 1994...can't believe it took me so long to find this place!

Thought I would say hello by posting a pic of my 1st gen. G17. I purchased it from the original owner in 2003. He stated that he purchased it new in January of 1986 and put about 500 rounds through it then put away for storage. Never rebuilt or touched while he owned it...and I believe him. Serial is AF4XXUS which I think places it in the first 1,000 imported. The crown jewel of my Glock collection.

    Wow, what a beauty!

I shoot my Gen 1, but if I owned that one I wouldn't mess with it in any way. Most people don't look at Glocks as collectible so they get used. Of course when Colt SAAs were first built they were looked at as tools and same with Winchesters. Now they bring crazy prices in mint original condition.

That is really cool to see. I have an old 2nd Gen Glock 22 marked "40 S&W" on the slide,...but nothing in comparison to that old piece. Awesome

    Welcome to GT!

I'm jealous; your First Gen is not only nicer than mine, but it's an earlier one.

It also has the factory ported barrel. I also was able to buy from a member a factory regular barrel so I can shoot it without the porting.

I have had other 17L's but the first gen seems to have the most appeal.

Man, it's amazing to see these early Glocks get pulled out of storage after so long and they still look brand new. I had an early gen. 3 that was never fired and sat in storage for its entire life, took it out later and used it pretty hard, absolutely flawless.
