I have a very sick addiction to older beretta 92 series, and now its happening with older sigs. I have at the moment 3 older 92fs's, 1 92 G elite, 1 M9 special edition (basically a 92fs) 1 M9a1 and I am in the market for another older 92fs and another M9a1. I am also beginning this cycle with older sigs. My wife looks at me like I am crazy. I might be I dunno. I justify it to myself by telling her they dont make em like this anymore. At first it started with I wanted a back up 92 incase the first went down for whatever reason. Now I have no idea I just really really like them.
Does anybody else have multiples of the same gun? How do you justify it to yourself? I know there is a member here who has many many many walthers.

Nothing wrong with you, you have the freedom to buy whatever you want. If you like 92s, you would not be crazy for owning 10.

Many people have duplicates of working guns. If one goes down a backup is there until it gets repaired. Many other people like certain models and collect them just for the love. Both are valid reasons.

It's pretty common to own multiples. Many members here own several Glocks, and nothing but Glocks.

They own nothing but Glocks so they can be experts on Sigs, HK's, SWAMPS, and XD's.

I am not a Beretta enthusiast but I objectively recognize that they are quality pistols worthy of collecting and admiration. Don't let commie propaganda get the best of you. I happen to own a spare Glock 26 and 3 1911s. Redundancy can be a good thing.

    This is America after all.

    Absolutely.

I don't get that one but it is valid expression.
Strange how that works isn't it?

I have multiples of many guns, S&W J Frames, M1 Carbines, Garand, Kel Tec PLR pistols, Polish P-64 pistols, etc, plus 16 Makarovs.

I gave up trying to justify buying guns 25-30 years ago. If I want it, that's justification enough.

I own many 1911s and Colt Pythons, but none are exactly the same.

Those that buy four G19s never quite made sense to me. :dunno:

I was hoping to get in before you did Bac1023 'cause I was gonna throw you under the bus (collecting multiples). :wavey:

I don't understand having the exact same thing but slight variations I can see just fine, like you and the op are talking about.

I never understood it either, but then again it's freedom that
    makes this place so great,

Me, I'm still too young to have multibles like some do

Oh, when I scanned your post I thought you had slight variations. Oh well. As long as you enjoy them and are having fun. :wavey:

    I own four 1911's so I can't chuck a rock.

If you have the money and a secure place to keep them there's no reason not to really.

"I gave up trying to justify buying guns 25-30 years ago. If I want it, that's justification enough." - Great answer. I am going through the samething. I am always wanting to buy a gun but always have to justify it first. I think you solved my issue. Learn through others. lol

To the OP...I feel you on the 92s even though I just got mine (see below)the other week. I want another one already.

Like Bac, I, too, have several 1911s (but no duplicates). I also have five Berettas (2-92FS, 96FS, M9, and a M9A1). One of the 92FSs (Police/Military trade-in) is in my SHTF kit. In addition, I have several SIGs and Glocks (different models and calibers) too. I would say that your Beretta collection is based more of diffent variations. When I collected "Hot Wheels" many years ago, many of my cars were variations of the same car. Some of those variations were worth a good bit of money years later. Just remember, it is your collection and you make it what you want it to be.

    THIS!

I was going to post just this. Why do you have to justify it, even to yourself? :dunno:
