I heard about it 40 minutes ago, but didn’t see any confirmation until now. A reporter from WGAL tweeted the DA confirmed multiple officers shot in the area of Mulberry and 19th St.
Completely unconfirmed personal source says a US Marshall is deceased and Harrisburg city officer also shot. It happened about 630...early morning warrant maybe?
The fallen Marshall has been identified as Deputy Marshall Christopher Hill. He was part of a task force serving a warrant on a female suspect for terroristic threats.
Hill and a second Marshall were shot from the second floor of the residence. A male then ran from the front of the residence and engaged a Harrisburg officer on the task force who was manning the perimeter. The suspect is drt. The news has stated the Harrisburg officer was also shot but they didn’t mention it during the press conference.
They also mentioned a third officer from York city the is in surgery and his injuries are expected to be non life threatening.
Unfortunately the investigation by the Dauphin County Attorney’s Office determined that Deputy Marshall Hill was killed by friendly fire. In the course of firing on the suspect at the top of the stairs who was firing on them, one round from a leo struck Hill after passing through a wall.
The article states they shooting up at the top of a flight of stairs and that they had not been to the second floor to secure it yet. I’m not sure how the trajectory is playing out here...was it just a crazy ricochet?
